Introduction

This page lists the latest builds from the Eclipse BIRT Project.

If you are new to BIRT, you can refer to the complete install instructions on the BIRT website.

Build Types

Builds are of three types:

Releases are fully tested and production quality. If you plan to develop an application, use the latest release. A milestone is a stable build within the development cycle of a release. If allows the BIRT community to preview new functionality and provide feedback to the development team. Milestones are not production quality.

A complete definition of BIRT build types is available on the Build Types page.

All downloads are provided under the terms and conditions of the Eclipse Foundation Software User Agreement unless otherwise specified.

Requirements

BIRT can be installed with existing Eclipse installations. See the required software below. If you currently do not have Eclipse installed, or wish to have a separate Eclipse install for BIRT, you can download the Report Designer Full Eclipse Install, which contains everything you need with the exception of the iText jar files discussed below, to run the BIRT designer. Of course, you'll need to have Java installed. BIRT will not work with 2.x versions of Eclipse.
